On Sunday March 1, Eve Polycarpou is having her album launch at Theatro Technis.

We asked Eve why she produced this album after all these years: “After emergency surgery and radiotherapy, following a life-threatening condition. I realised that if I don’t do it now, I might not be able to do it at all. Although I’ve made albums with Martha with some of our original material, I’ve been writing songs since I started playing the guitar in my teens, as I found it a great way to say things I had trouble expressing .. Many of the songs have come from my own personal journey from relationships with others and with myself, but more than anything they’ve come from discovery .. I don’t really know why it took so long to do a solo album .. have found it difficult to decide what the album would be .. as I have always loved singing so many other writers work .. guess I didn’t feel like mine was good enough but the audiences who’ve watched me telling my stories and singing my own songs have been on at me to record them… so as I said it was now or never”

‘Not In A Million Years’ is an album that has come out of decades of Eve’s diverse worldwide career in theatre, television, film, music, songwriting and recording. Her songs are inspired by her own life challenges, observations and celebrations. In her unique style, Eve combines her folk-rock, bluesy, Mediterranean vocals and acoustic guitar with the musicianship and creativity of friends and fellow musicians in an album full of life stories.

She is joined by special guests, including Martha D Lewis, Stephen D Fletcher and Davide Manthovani. Also joining Eve are: Emmet O’Connor, Alwyne Taylor, Diane McLoughlin, Kate Shortt and Dan Lipman.
